I too think the newletter is much less about the positive and much more about the negative however it is the only means to date to get information out. Everyone is welcome to submit articals for the newsletter and it is encouraged. I will say that if all of us as owners did the right thing and lived by the bylaws (as I do), there would never be a negative thing ever again in the newsletter.
Not giving a hoot about the bylaws, or your neighbour's right not have a poo filled back yard next door smelling up the joint or a constantly barking or howling dog is out of control here at Greenside. Every year I ask the staff to come into the common area to the rear of my strata lot to see if I have done things to put me in violation. When I put my shed too close to the building, I moved it (no hissy fits). When my gate was broken I fixed it, I had a small step in front of my shed that was higher than ground level, I sunk it down. There was bark mulch from a previous owner, I was aksed to remove it and I did (again no hissy fit) just compliance. The rules apply to me also, I am not exempt from a single one.
I long for the day that our bylaws gets dusty on a shelf that constantly being challenged or ignored.
